So many people don’t understand the mentality of runners. It isn’t crazy to go run ten miles at once, to wear just spandex tights, plan meals around workouts, have a relationship with your trainers, get new shoes every season, spend more money on under armour than “regular clothes.” It’s not weird to be proud of throwing up after racing your heart out, to wear “short shorts,” to make your main food group carbs, to be thankful for port-o-potties, to be proud of sports bra tan lines, to drink five water bottles in a day. It is completely normal to enjoy the pain, push your body to it’s limits and beyond, and to get up even when it feels impossible. Because that’s what runners do. They fight through to the finish, and go back out and do it again tomorrow.
